Hey guys I'm wondering if any of you have bought match barrels for a garand and sent them off to be installed.
I'm buying a Winchester M1, its got mixed SA parts on it so its a shooter grade rifle not a collector, and I checked the muzzle with a M2 ball round and the back half of the bullet was sticking out of the bore, so I think the barrel will be fine for some time. That said, I would like to save the old barrel and put a new criterion barrel onto it, midway has em for $200, and I was wondering who deals with M1 barrel installs that you guys are familiar with.
Any help would be much appreciated,

I have a Winchester M1 Garand. It had a Winchester Barrel on it and just would not shoot so well (crown was a bit messed up) . I dropped it off at Fulton Armory, and had it re-barreled with a new chrome lined barrel and now shoots like a dream. But since it shoots well, I don't shoot it that much. Not like I used to.
It's weird sometimes one works on getting one's battery shooting well, and it ends up with projects or problem child's getting all the attention!
Yeah I hear ya, I was just checking out their web site.
Gonna go shoot this puppy soon and see how it does, but I will probably send it off to fulton to have it spruced up, Thanks!
My buddy has a Garand and I have wanted my own for too long, its time, now GET OFF MY LAWN

I've heard very good things about Shuffs as well––and never heard anything BAD, either.
