now, there is a couple things you can do....
they make Ruger to weaver and or picatinny bases
i think both Weaver and Burris make them (know Burris makes them), i think this would be a good option if you already have some rings laying around...

Burris, Warne, and Millet have rings as well but i prefer Ruger brand rings...
(you can find all of them at SWFA)

as for height, Medium height should do it
SHOPRUGER states that medium rings should work up to a 42mm objective...

i have a 40mm objective on my Leupold and i use the medium rings (but its mounted to a mini-14 and not a M77...
still, Ruger's chart states that the medium will work with your rifle...

still you should double check on Ruger's site yourself
Shopruger's Scope ring finder has some info that will help you find the size you want.

The Warne, Burris, and Millet rings are less expensive but i have no experience with them and cannot endorse them because of that. i know they exist though
the Warne Maxima rings also come in quick-detach if that is something you might be looking for....
