Folding Stocks for Mini-14
Please offer some suggestions and advice on folding stocks. I would like to convert my Mini-14 Ranch Rifle to a folder w/pistol grip.
Butler creek
Factory ac556 style
Federal Ordnance
Check out the picture thread. I have the Federal Ordnance folder on mine. Some people don't like them because you have to rest your cheek on the folder, but it's really not too bad.
I have an ATI Strikeforce stock on mine, a lot of people don't like it, most say it has a loose hinge that causes play when using it, but i haven't had any problems with mine. Adjustable cheek rest, 6 position collapsable stock, I put a UTG Nex Gen Combat foregrip on it as well. If you do get it, make sure you get the Aluminum upgrade kit as well (which includes a 6" lower rail, 2" side rails, and a 7" top rail(which works great with extended eye relief scopes))

Thanks for the responses guys. Nice pics there Joenavy85. Looks good. What I'm really trying to do here is get my Mini to a manageable size for vehicle carry. Not too interested in a tactical setup. I think a skeleton folding stock is what I should go for.
Butler Creek, or if you don't mind sacrificing some comfort and spending money, the Federal Ordnance under-folders are pretty good. I feel that the Mini is much lighter with the Fed as opposed to the Butler Creek, but that might be due to the balance. Also with the Fed and wooden handguard, the rifle is slimmer and has less to snag on.
Whilst these two I actually own, simply on the basis of photos, the factory folder would take preference over the Butler Creek and possibly the Fed, too.
Here are a couple of crappy photos (Sorry about the curtains!). They both make for a very handy rifle.

Thanks for the photos. The top is Federal Ordnance and the bottom Butler Creek? And, is there a Ruger factory option? I did not see one on their website. I like both of yours, but the underfolder with wood is very nice.

No problem. I am sorry they aren't especially good, but since the rifle is in unfinished project stages at the moment, I haven't been paying much attention to it or taking more pictures. Yes, the top stock is a Fed. Yes, although they haven't made any for some time I believe, and they are quite valuable.
This is a stainless Ruger folder. If you decide to try purchasing a Fed or Ruger stock, Gunbroker and Ebay are quite good sources. I think there are a few copies of the Ruger stock out there, too.

Thanks for the information. This is very helpful. Now I just have to decide which one!

That wood underfolder FTW

I loved the factory folder when I had one.
Unfortunately, the stock itself fetches crazy money($350.00 up) unless you happen to be at the right place at the right time.
when I had a Mini-14, Butler Creek and Uncle Mikes were the strongest.
Fed Ord was the sexiest and sleekest.
Factory folder was more solid than Fed Ord but impossible to get and expensive.
