Primarily an AR owner but kinda kicking around the idea of picking up a Mini 14 Tactical, probably the standard stock model. With that being said, I know that in the past the Mini 14 hasn't allways been regarded as a tight grouping rifle.

Since they've added these new barrels and other improvements to the rifle, what are the average group sizes now?

I'm getting +/- 4 MOA with a standard synthetic stocked tactical, and that's with Winchester Ranger 64 gr Power Points, peep sights, and my 47 year old eyes. I think most younger shooters could cut an inch off of that, and probably half it with a scope. I've owned a lot of Mini-14's and AR15's over the years. I like both, and have carried both on the street in my 26 years as a cop. The new Mini-14 Tactical is light years ahead of the older style, in both accuracy, better sights, and portability. Just my humble opinion.

i took that dampener off mine about a year ago, in my eye's it shoot's so much better without it.
