Factory Savage bottom metal, where to get one?

I have a Savage Model 11 Hog Hunter. Recently replaced the stock with a B&C medalist and now looking for bottom metal options. I prefer to keep a factory bottom metal due to price as this is more budget oriented so not really interested in dropping $250 for just the DBM plus inletting. I know CDI has bottom metal for my 4.40" Savage, but it is roughly $250 for the DBM plus $75+ for the AICS mags. So I am not interested in that route.

I don't care if its a hinged floor plate or detachable mag system, as long as its factory. I am not a huge fan of the blind magazine. Where can I find factory bottom metal? I had no luck on Brownells or Midway. Any other places I should check out?

You can also get the bottom metals directly from Savage through their parts finder. $89 for the assembly, the last time I checked.

Just took a look, but it will not source the bottom metal since my M11 hog hunter did not have any bottom metal. It is only finding parts that came factory with my rifle.

I did the inlet on my B&C stock for the factory bottom metal. Unfortunately the stock is slightly deeper (taller?) at that spot than the factory, so the metal had to be recessed slightly to get it to work. But it does work very well. Just take your time, I put it into a mill so that the aluminum pillars would be cut perfectly flat then trimmed the final stages by hand and with a Dremel ().

You are more than welcome to use my serial number if you like. It will give you a matte black, short action, centerfeed.

Cool thanks! I am going to try to source my part from SSS since they have the DBM set at $68. But if they don't get back tome in a reasonable time, I may just pick it up from Savage then.

I inquired PTG about their DBM and seeing what their price points are as their Rem M700 DBM are very competively priced. Though I would prefer the lower profile DBM from the factory DBM.

You just need a serial number from a rifle that has the DBM you want, and order it direct from Savage. Easy. I'd go factory DBM, which gives you a detachable mag and several options. For the magazine, you will need to add the floor plate to the internal magazine parts you already have that came in the Hog Hunter. Then for extra mags go Dark Eagle, they have extended mags that fit the factory DBM.

I am trying to find a factory Savage DBM to put on my Savage that has a blind magazine (no bottom access). A Rem700 DBM would not work on my Savage due to action screw spacing differences as well as other differences.

I prefer to use a factory DBM. SSS had extended 9 round mags and they also sell factory DBMs as well which is why I was trying to source my parts from them since I can get the DBM, extra mags, and have my BC stock inletted.

Good luck getting anything from SSS...they have the worst CS. Buyer beware.

I got a reply about 2 weeks later from SSS. They said they will not be taking any stock work until January. I've decided to pick up an additional mag from Dark Eagle and have them inlet the stock.
