What does your Remingotn 700 AAC-SD or other 1/10 .308 like?
Took my new Rem 700 AAC-SD out yesterday with some Federal 180 grain ammo and a box of Remington 168 SMKs (only thing gander mnt had that was match grade). I could not get consistent results from the remington ammo but I assume that happened because it was remington ammo..... The 180 Federal did ok, better than the SMKs.
Anyway, like the topic says, What have you found your AAC-SD or 1/10 barrel to like best? I have a bunch of ammo on order but it wont be here till wednesday and I wanted to shoot my new toy. I plan on reloading for it after I figure out what it likes best.
Mine is a Savage 10fcp HS Precision version w/ 1:10" twist. So far I've had good results with 168gr smk over 42 gr of 8208xbr. From what I've read and seen from my friend's rifles, the Remingtons tend to have longer throats/chamber so they handle loading the bullet out longer than most other brand rifles. (hope that made sense)
here's 5 shots @ 100yds
here's a couple @ 300yds. (this was POI shift test with and without the YHM can):
Mine's a Rem 700 SPS Tactical that has been re-worked and now has a Bartlein 1/10 barrel and it groups best with Berger 185 LRBT's but 175 SMK's are a very close second.
I have a savage PC with 1/10, it likes 175 smk very much, but will also shoot 130gr ttsx bullets into 5 shot groups that measure sub moa.
My AAC-SD liked Hornady 168gr. Amax best. It also did great with the Fed. Prem. 165gr. BTSP Sierra Gamekings.
Anybody tested any of the 200gr+ smk, or 208gr amax?
Savage 10 PC
168 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip over 44.6 gr Varget

A 1/10 will stabilize heavier projectiles. I'd try some 200gr projectiles to see if they shoot better. Sierra makes Match Kings in 200, 210, 220, and 240 grains.

168gr. Federal Gold Match. its all I shoot.
my sps tactical likes 168gr TAP (pretty much same as amax) a lot
havent tried GMM
For all of those that are stating that their rifles like 168 gr, have you tried anything heavier? If so, how heavy? Reloads for factory?

I too would like to know this. I plan on trying some 208 amax and the like but always like to know what results others have gotten.

I have not tried any yet. I just started to roll my own and got my 168 load worked up. I also only have a 300 yd range so there is not a lot of motivation for me yet.
I shot 20 rds of Federal 168gr. On the box it says M1A. I had a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards.
