Has anyone ever considered this? (Mini-14 related)

Just wondering if anyone has ever researched making an adapter so one could use AR magazines.

I asked a Ruger rep at the Shot Show in Orlando that question once. Why not make a Mini14 that takes Ar mags?
He didn`t see the advantage to it. I told him lots of people have Ars, they would buy a Ruger but for the expensive
mags that would only fit a Mini14.
Just pissed him off, so i didn`t really get an answer.

I've been hacking at mine off and on. Got the mag in, still need to get the kinks out of feeding and whittle out a mag catch.
