A while back I read that Beretta was making 30 round mags for the MX4 (selectfire). Anything on this?

The Indian article mentioned 20 round magazines. Only The Firearms Blog mentioned 30 round magazines, and then only in passing.

The MX4 is select-fire version of the CX4.

I don't know about 30 round mags, but when I used to own my CX4 I bought a pile of 20 round 93R style factory mags from CDNN for a good price.

I've never seen any official/documented reference to factory 30s (now I have, see below!) –– just a lot of wishful thinking (mine included).

Non-factory 30s abound, but my experiences with most of them were not good, and none were 100%.

The factory 20s have been 100% GTG in my CX4 Storm and various handguns.

YMMV.

The brochure for the MX 4 is downloadable here

http://berettadefence.com/index.aspx?m=53&did=152

It mentions 30 round mags in the brochure.

Don't know if or when the mags will be available.

Dang if it don't!

That's the first thing I've seen actually from Beretta hinting that they will make 30-rounders.

I sincerely hope they do, and I hope they are available to the US/civilian market!!!

For what its worth, I've had great luck with the 30 round Pro-mags. I haven't used them in a CX4 but in my 92FS they have been damn near flawless. I would be all over some factory 30's though, as long as they aren't rediculously priced. Wonder if they will make them in the sand-resistant configuration.

It was said that 44MAG.com has them for $49.99.
It was also said that they were bought up by them and tagged on $10.00.

That looks as it maybe so.
But who am I to say they cant make profit!
If I were Obama I would say that, that is not fear and they need to make less money, or something like that.
He speaks so well I just can not even come close to him.
OOO I have chill going up my leg. NOT!!

30 rounders' insides tend to look like this:

when used a lot.

The mec-gar 20 rounders have been just fine, but both the pro-mag and the other brand I bought develop spring tension problems pretty quickly. Then all it takes is a bump with the magazine half-full and and all the rounds get jumbled in the mag.

Well I found a factory Beretta 30 rounder for the 92 at my local shop. He had it behind the counter where no one could find it. Glad I asked. $40 no shipping in my hand.
I will see how it runs soon and pick up some more.
Now we have to hope that some one orders some PX4's to go with there MX4's and then we can have some 30's for the PX4 too.
