after years of tacticool rails, eotechs and weaponlights, I am getting a taste for a fine wood and classic metal of C&R and a lever action world

I have to say that when I get one of these out of my safe, they do speak to me in a different manner than my ARs, AKs and the kind!

any way, I recently picked up 2 marlins - 30AC and 1894 and I am loving it. Both are older JM marked barrels in great condition and together costed me less than a decent upper :)

now, shopping for a 44 mag wheel gun and possibly another lever action

here is a fast pic:

I installed a scope on a 30-30 permanently, but left the 44 mag with QD rings so I can slap a scope on it for hunting and take it off for range fun :)

Nice. Welcome to the lever world. I just recently bought a Marlin 1895G .45-70 to go with my Winchester 94 .30-30.

A .45 Colt and .44-40 are on my wish list.

Excellent choices. You may want to check out a '73 sbooting The Holy Black smoke powder in 44-40 or 45Colt is quite an experience.

The .44-40 WCF is a great cartridge, it was designed for blackpowder.

thinking of 45-70 in the future, but that would almost for sure drive me to reloading... :) one step at a time

I just picked up a ruger redhawk from a forum member here to match up with my 1894 :)

Leverguns are just ... they are just great. The feel of wood and steel in a slim package with some punch is satisfying:

However, fine military rifles also have that rich feel of fine walnut and cold steel:

And, you might just find that your interest in walnut rubs off on one of your ARs:
