Tactical Mossberg lever action?
Just saw these new products on 2012 Shot Show reviews. Any reviews/reports on these abominations there?
Found additional, earlier posts on this subject. Moderator, please delete. Thanks.......
Somehow it just doesn't look right to me.
That looks awesome!
End of times. End of times.....
It needs an Folding VFG
I don't often criticize firearms. To each his own and all that.
BUT.....that is a ridiculous looking firearm.

Ummmm.......i dont have anything nice to say!
Jeebus......thats ugly.
For some reason, I find myself kind of wanting this.
Im waiting on the one with the Chainsaw handle and the 50 cal muzzle brake... Ohhhh Boy!
The natural lines of 30-30 are really sweet. Even in tactical black synthetic stock.
However, that looks like the results of an unholy union between siblings.

Good God, that thing is butt ugly..........
That looks terrible. The guy who "invented" it and the guy who approved it should be fired. Maybe even jailed.
Does it have a tang safety? If it does, how would you even hold it?

Am I the only one who thinks it really needs a ghost ring sight?
the geh it hurts

While reading down through the posts, I was formulating a clever response, but this pretty much sums it up for me. That gun is uglier'n a hat-full of assholes.
Maybe Mossberg needs to do random drug testing........starting at the top.
Ugly yes

, practical, maybe

I'm thinking a good starter gun for a youngster with the ability to lengthen the stock as they grow.
They make two versions for both the 30-30 and also 22lr. I really like the lines of a classical lever action but these just don't do it for me at all. I'd rather that they would have come out with other calibers
30-30:
With FH
Without FH
Compare that to their more traditional versions that come with both straight grip and pistol grip in blued and stainless steel look:
They also make these 'tacticool' versions in 22lr
With FH
Without FH
Compare that to their traditional 22lr lever action carbine
The adjustable stock is a good idea for youngsters. Most factory stocks are too long for them.
The rest of the it is just silly.
I was a huge mossberg fan, But after the 20lbs muzzle break on a .22 and a shotgun, The "Chainsaw" and now this Moss-strosity.
I'm embarrassed to say I even own a mossberg, Somebody needs a beating after this.
I'm gonna have to pass unfortunately

I've got to admit that Mossberg has been listening to their advertizing guys a bit too closely and they should be spanked for this whole 'tactical' idea but on a related vein, I'm also intrigued by their blued pistol grip 464 version with the walnut stock. I saw one in person and was surprised at the fit of the stock, the finish of the steel, decent trigger, and the smoothness as it cycled. The only thing is, do I really need a 30-30? I have two 357mag levers; a
carbine and a rifle that can be loaded up to close the 30-30's
performance but with a slightly larger bullet and reloading for them cost in the 13.5¢ - 14.5¢ per rd range.
Trouble is, I really like the look and feel of that Mossberg 464 but I can't convenience myself that I have any need for it even though the cost of one isn't unreasonable. Out here in Colorado I don't have much use for the 30-30's performance and using it for plinking doesn't make financial sense because the cost of adding a new caliber to my reloading setup requires that I shoot it a fair amount and even if I do, the component costs put it in the 30 - 35¢ per rd region.

I think if they got rid of the stock and forend and replaced them with some a nice pistol grip synthetic stock with a recoil pad and a nice synthetic fore end but kept the 16.25" threaded barrel and put a picitanny (SP?) rail on top for mounting optics as well as a larger loop, they would have hit a home run and people would buy more of them JMHO
