This was one of the first guns I ever shot it have been at least 15 years since I have shot it. The butt stock had a small crack back then and now its completely broken
PLEASE someone tell me where I get the correct replacement for this great looking 30-30
& I would also love any more information about this rifle because I know very little about it

STOP EMAILING/IM ME ASKING IF I WANT TO SELL THIS RIFLE !!!!!!

I want to know more information just in general and would really love to get a correct straight non checkered buttock so I can I possibly use it this deer season

I'm going to direct you over to the Marlin Owner's forum

http://www.marlinowners.com

The buttstock from any straight gripped Marlin 336, 444, 1894, 1895, etc will fit.

You should be able to get a straight grip stock for that from Numrich or Brownells. The curved buttplate will probably need to be fitted though.

Out of curiousity, does that rifle have ballard or microgroove rifling?

The stock can be repaired if you have the other piece.

Boyd's has after market stocks that will need some simple work to fit and finish.

Your welcome, no thanks needed for the info that I did give you.

You were given some info on where to look for a stock. What do you want...a direct link to one?

I checked Numrich, none like you need out of 6 pages of Marlin buttstocks.

Bob's gun parts has a pile of Marlin stocks but none are the right stock.

I searched on Google for a while too.

I found one on ebay that comes with an unfinished forearm that you don't need. I suggest that you buy this one and save the forearm or sell it. There aren't many like you need. Last year Numich had hundreds because they bought a pile of old/new stock gun stocks from Marlin. Now they are sold out on all straight stocks except for ones with a crescent butt and they don't have the crescent plate to match. And it wouldn't be the correct stock for your rifle.

This one is.

I have a 44Mag Octagon also made in limited numbers in 1973 only. The owner before me added the recoil pad, not me.

Sorry if I sounded a little pissed off I'm grateful for those who did give me information but I have received far more inquiries than posts in this thread

Head up to the Tulsa gun show in November. You may be able to find a stock there.

Like I said, the stock you have can be repaired, easily if you have the piece missing in the photo, not so easy otherwise. It can be put in usable condition without the cosmetics repaired in just a couple of days.

I don't know the subtle difference between this stock and a normal 336 stock, but I'm betting a regular stock can be modified to conform to match the old stock with a little smart carving here and there.

Here is a stock for $65 that will get you going again. It's not the right one for this rifle, but it will fit.

Sorry no offense meant, you should be proud to own such a gun. The only reason I asked is because I have a stock that will fit it.
