I've been a member here for years and never noticed there was a lever action subforum. Guess I'm blind...
Anyway, I thought I'd share my one and only lever gun. It's an 1895G from 2004. It's actually my second Guide Gun. The first was an early model with a ported barrel. I hated the extra noise from the porting, so I traded it for a non-ported model shortly after they came out. Even with earplugs, the difference in volume is quite noticeable to me. A few years ago, I added the Ashley sights/rail and Leupold 2x20 pistol scope. It's my primary hunting rifle for everything from hogs to whitetail/mule deer to elk. Gotta love the versatility of the old 45/70 Gov't.

Glad you found this little Gem on ar15.com.
Nice shootin stick!

Great looking Marlin you got there! I had my standard 1895 cut down from 22" to 18". I want to add a thicker recoil pad, Lever Rail scope mount and Leupold 2x7 scope to mine:

Thanks for the comments. My only complaint with the rifle is the location of the safety which I often hit accidentally when I have the rifle slung on my shoulder. Now that I just noticed the thread below with info on the safety delete, I can finally fix that little issue. I never understood the point of a safety on a lever action with a half-cock notch. I guess that's what happens when lawyers get too much input on gun design.
