Hi Guys,

A local shop has a 1959 WIinchester 94 in 30-30 which I would say is conservatively 90 % condition. No cracks or splits in the stock just the usual small ding here and there in the wood. No signs of rust or pitting. They are asking $395 for it, sound reasonable ? I have been wanting a pre-64 Winnie for awhile now.

for a pre-64 that sounds like a good deal.. Im considering selling my post '64 30-30 and would hope to get at least $300 to 350 for it..

Hell, I've seen them for nearly twice that much around here.

eta: in fact, I just saw an AE that looked like it had been used as a jack handle for about that much.

I'd go for it. That's about what I paid for my 1921, .32 Win spec about twenty years ago.

+1. I would do that for a pre 64 gun.

as long as it wasn't side tapped, re-blued, or re-finished jump on it

Just a month ago I sold a 1954 model in excellent (98%) condition for $650.

GO FOR IT!

I sure would, most around here are post '64's and are in the 350-500 range. Don't see many pre's around.
