.44 Magnum version factory loads... What are you using, in what weights? Anyone chrono'd loads yet? Not interested in starting up handloading for the .44 yet, but I will eventually get into it.

200 gr goes about 2000 fps and 240 about 1800 fps for about 1700 ftlbs energy. Try to use bullets sized .430 not .429. Very good hog gun.

Rossi 16" and 20" Leverguns

If not using reloads, I just shoot the Wally-World WWB 240gr JSP stuff...then reload the brass with home cast bullets

Reloads:
265gr Unchecked Ranch Dog bullet over 8.5gr Unique for plinking
265gr Checked Ranch Dog bullet over 17gr 2400 for more serious business

The 44Mag is a versatile cartridge out of a levergun

Interesting. Were those factory loads?

I have a home in Clermont, FL, bout this .44 just to hunt hogs...

I use the regular WWB .44 mag loads in my gun. Works fine.

If you want velocity gain, go with H110 or Lil Gun. My 1894FG (.41 Magnum) gains 500fps out of its 20" barrel over the expected handgun velocities of 170gr bullets with H110.
I've been wanting to chrono some .44 Mag rounds with H110 out of my handirifle. I'm betting it'll be good enough for elk with this load.
