Gun safe was delivered today v. National Security 56 aka National Security Fatboy
Ordered it from a local area dealer last week as they had it in stock and I wanted to grab one before the rebates expired. 2 guys showed up with a pallet jack, bunch of plywood, and some blocks. After about 1.5 hours they finally finished getting it in the house and in place.
I didn't want to do like a lot of people do and buy a cheap small safe and then upgrade and have 2 or more safes in various places so I just waited and bought the Fat Boy version of the National Security line from Liberty.
EDIT. The rest of my handles were missing, they are being shipped from Liberty ASAP.

If you have any questions ask away.
What did you/they put on the bottom of it to keep it from scratching your hardwood during placement? Did you have it bolted down? Great looking safe. I just bought a Liberty Colonial with the same finish.
Gorgeous. Cost? Did I miss that?

They used the cardboard it was wrapped in with plywood on top to get it into the room, then they put felt pads I bought under the bottom to slide it the last 3-4 inches without messing the floor up. It's not bolted down yet, not 100% sure if I am going to bolt it down or not. I am buying a motion detector in the room pointing at the safe to go along with the rest of my alarm and motion detectors just in case. I also have the monitoring on the alarm system, strike plates on the doors, and my 2 neighbors directly in front of the house are stay at home Mom's. If they can get through the doors, the alarm, backup batteries and cellular, and tote around 1,600 lbs off loaded in front of neighbors I am screwed long before they ever get into the house.
It took them almost 1.5 hours to get it in the house and positioned, extra time for being careful about the floors and walls.

After rebates $3,400 not including tax and delivery. Delivery was $250.
Very nice.
I need a big safe.
I wish my floor could take the weight.

I am on a slab so I hope my floor can take the weight. I assumed it could since it was a slab.

Great looking safe, thank you for sharing.
1.5hrs? why so long?

Getting it off the trailer, setting up the plywood to come up my 2 small steps, getting it through the door, positioning it, etc.
They did it without hitting any doors, touching my actual floors, or anything I am happy.
Very nice looking gun safe and plenty of room to grow the collection ... congrats.
Just a observation, but what does that room face? It seems like there's a rather large window there, just to the left of the safe. I'm just wondering if that faces the street side, or if that's your backyard. I initially wanted my next safe to go into the house, but several people have talked me out of that, especially two safe techs and a few of police officers that are friends.

I would personally put a safe wherever it is most convienient to use it. I have layered security at home that will protect this place from letting people spend any significant amount of time inside. If your safe is not somewhere convienent, you wont use it. If you don't use it, then having a safe makes no sense. So put the safe where you want, and take measures after the fact to protect yourself.
There is something as simple as 80% reflective window tint can be put on that window, and no one looking in it will ever know a safe is even there.
I would think again about bolting it down. That nice wood floor you have is probably pretty slick, so to slide even a very heavy safe like that wouldn't be too hard to do. If they can slide it, they can tip it on its back and get a lot of leverage to pry on that door. If you bolt in place, they can't pry on the door without breaking your window, and making a lot of noise.

I agree 100%. You should really reconsider and bolt that thing down.

It's the street window. I don't leave the blinds in the house open EVER unless we are home, and the office blinds are open only when I am working from home like today. Directly in front of those 2 windows are 2 stay at home moms.

I am considering it but I have the security company coming coming in to add another motion detector specifically to my office pointing at the safe. This plus the strike plates, alarm with backup battery and monitoring including wireless and the stay at home neighbors, I figure if they can break in, pull a 1,500 lb safe loaded out from the wall. knock it over, and then pry/cut it before the cops show up I am screwed no matter what I do.
The reflective tint is a great idea, I don't like people being able to see me period but I like the natural light.
That's a lot of safe. Do you have more guns to put in there that are not shown in the photos?
Nope, that's it. I can't do anything half way so after doing the re-search everyone always seems to buy a small safe to begin with and needs another one later on. I didn't want to have to worry about buying another safe ever again so I went all out on the first and only one.

What happens to your motion detectors when your electricity goes out? (either natural or man-made outages)
They are wireless battery powered motion detectors so losing power doesn't hurt them. The alarm itself has a backup battery and if the power is cut and the battery reaches 10% or so they call me. I turned the power off to the alarm by accident last vacation is how I know.

Bolt it down! They can knock the safe down, pry it and be outta there in no time. If one of the stay at home moms is taking a bathroom break and the other on is out back having a smoke they won't be much good. In fact if they're looking out the window and see someone breaking into your safe they won't be much good in the short term either. Unless one's a crack shot and willing to possibly go to jail.

where did you find this model for that price? I can't even find the fatboy model for National Security
I didn't know it existed either until I called a local large volume dealer and they mentioned it. After they told me the model I only found it online here:

I would call your local dealers and ask if they have the National Security 56 in stock.
