Just wondering what types of lighting are available. What works best? What is easy to install?

I've got a cheap rope light in mine. My safe has the outlets inside, so all I had to do was plug it in.

There are some nice LED battery lights out there, super bright and the batts last a good long time. If your interested I can take a pic of the setup I have in one of my closets at home. they can be installed with velcro or double sided sticky tape or screws.

There are all sorts of options. If you just want to get some ideas, stop by the lighting section of the hardware store next time you're out shopping. They usually have an entire area devoted to under cabinet lighting where the lights are powered up.

We just got a pretty awesome flexible LED bar setup in that we put on a bunch of safes last week. It is all 12v, and comes with a magnetic switch. The kits come with 2 bars that are about 4 feet long, and one bar that is about 2 feet long for the top of the safe. Light coverage is pretty good. I will try to get pictures so you guys have an idea what they look like.

My safe has an electrical outlet in it, so I just bought this led kit from amazon. It has 16ft of lights that you can wrap around the inside of the safe, then cut what you dont need, It'll get here next week.

Thanks for the information. I think I'll go with the LED light rope kit.

There is a guy here in TX that makes a LED kit just for this purpose. It has a tape switch that activates when the safe door opens. 110VAC or battery operated as I recall. It is really nice.

He sells at the gun shows. Unfortunately I do not have a name or link but if you cross post in the TX HTF I bet you will get contact info pretty quick.

I have one of these kits on the list myself. They run about 100 bucks.

I used these

I ran 2 strips along the upper corners of each side. It illuminates the vertical gun racks very well, as well as providing plenty of light for the shelf stack in the middle.

I will get a picture when I am home next.

I have a battery operated LED bar that has slots on the back to screw mount it. Also has a small remote button. I mounted the bar at the top just inside the lip of the safe and just placed the remote on the shelf just inside the door. Open the safe and hit the button...works excellent. Something my wife bought because it was neat and never got around to using. I was glad to find it by accident and requisition it for it's obvious purpose.

I just took this video on my phone. The leds work great, light up the whole safe. Uses a remote to turn on and change colors if you wish to

Really clean system. Too bad I blew my bucks on powder and primers to the tune of $430.00.

I still plan to get one of these kit though.

Thanks for posting this. I have a few friends that were looking for pretty much the same thing I had but battery powered and at a decent price.

I think that one of the cool this about that setup is that it comes with an auto on/off switch..

Agreed. I think this is a better kit than the one I posted about earlier. Half the cost too. Just placed an order.

I use two of the Liberty safe lights. They have motion sensors and have three light bars each so you can direct the light where you need it.
