So I've decided on the p223. This is my first 223/556 gun and don't know much about scoping them. Ive got the classic 556. I've got hunting guys telling me 3-9x40 and AR guys telling my 3x32. What about you sig 556 guys? I really like the small size (8") of the 3x32, but like the idea of bringing it in close with the 3x9. But that thing is over 12" long. What your opinions?
Just my opinion here but for me, It all comes down to what you are using it for? If it's for hunting small to medium game within a few hundred yards then do the 3-9x40. If it's for killing zombies and man size targets and you want a lighter more mobile scope, then do the 3x32. If you want fast target acquisition for QCB then do a red dot or holographic sight.
Good point. I really don't see myself shooting at anything beyond 300-400 yds. I will have a red dot mounted on a small 45 degree offset mount right on the side of the P-223. So that covers QCB.
I had a Trijicon TR24G on mine and sold it in favor of a red dot sight. On an already front heavy rifle like my Sig556 Swat, that 10oz. of weight difference was huge. I have other platforms for specific distances. In my case, my Sig is my SHTF rifle and quick target acquisition is a must.

I'm leaning toward the 3x32 because of the lenght and weight. Any others opinions? Thanks!
Well I got the 3x32. Very nice scope. I think it a great fit for the 556. Looks nice sitting up there.

Nice, I think you will be very happy. That's an all around great scope atop that rifle.
