I dont belive so, but I'm sure someone will be along to answer. I know the classic has a longer length gas system and longer handguards to cover the system.

I don't know but I have one and I can tell you its heavy as hell.

12.8lbs with loaded 30rd pmag, vfg, troy folding irons, and an M3 clone.

I still love it for what it is, but the full length gas system makes it very nose heavy.

I put a Harris bi-pod on it and I'm going to make it my long range gun.

I agrre mine is heavy but OK. I just was seeing if teh barrel itself was heaver than the SWAT Patro which is a pencil barrel. My original AR15 SP1 has the pincel barrel and it is as accurate as they get.

All the SIG barrel profiles are similar in weight. The weight your feeling is those thrice damned quad rails.

Yeah I am pretty sure the profile is the same for all of the 556 rifles in 5.56mm.

At first like everybody else I thought theSWAT Classic was a bit heavy but the more I get used to it it feels fine. Stays on target much better than my AR's

I'm changing my 556 swat to be my long range gun (in 5.56 that is). I've got a harris bi-pod on it already, and just got a nice 3-9x40 for it, should be able to get it zeroed and shoot out to 200 or better this weekend if all works out.

I'll post a range report once I've got some results to share.

My classic SWAT is as accurate as any of my AR's. Except min 516. It has never failed to feed, fire or eject. My patrol SWAT was my FAV untiul I picked up my 551 the other day. The 551 is now at the top of the list.
