cut and thread 556
so I know most the folks who get their 556 cut down get it done by ADCO and while I was checking out their site noticed they furnish an "adapter" that mimics the factory. can it be cut and threaded by a standard smith and equipt with an ar muzzle device? or are the barrels diffrent diamiter? excuse my newebie question.
it can be cut and threaded by anyone competent enough to cut and thread. the question is whether they have the correct tools to remove the barrels, and if they really know how to thread a barrel...
most folks use ADCO because they have the tools to remove the barrels without abusing the receiver, and they know how to *properly* thread. you can put whatever muzzle device you want on there. the little "adapter" they make is merely to mimic the profile of the factory barrels out near the muzzle.
ADCO does great work on 556s. Turn around is quick also. I'd only use them for that kind of work on a 556.
