Class 3 Dealer's Personal NFA
As a class 3 dealer how do I transfer a suppressor to myself? How do I take one out of inventory and put it in my personal collection and be legal out and about at the range?
Why don't you just keep it on a F3? If you want it personally, you have to F4 it to yourself
Is your FFL in your name as a sole proprietor, or is in an LLC or corp?

If you are a sole proprietor, it's already yours.
If you're anything other than a sole proprietor, you have to transfer it from your business to yourself, tax-paid via Form 4, and dispose it to yourself from your bound book when the stamp comes back.

If SP, same as any other gun.

It is as an SP but soon I will be giving up my C3 and just keeping the FFL. I know what the ATF says but what do you have to show that it is legal once you give up your C3? Would you carry your expired C3 with the items?

IF you are SP your NAME should be on the F3. Is it not?

One of my 07's is
I asked this of the NFA once, I am not giving up the SOT but was curious.
They said all NFA weapons log out to you (if the LIC & SOT are SP) on your last years SOT.
They told me to print the info for the weapons & Suppressors on the back of the expiring SOT and Lic.
The only exception were any Full Auto weapons , they need to be disposed of one way or another, sell them to another dealer with demo letter or donate to a PD or destroy properly.

I was thinking that you would just keep the expired SOT and use the F3 you got from the MFG or Wholesaler as proof of legal ownership. Almost the same way you would with a F4 as an individual purchase. Of course, this all depends on you being an SP.

Why would you give your SOT up? This is the biggest year for NFA ever. Sales will only be getting better and the industry is growing larger.
