Hi, I'm new to the board, got recommended from another site. I'm starting the FFL process, for a home based FFL, what can I expect throughout the process and from the interview? I look forward to becoming a contributing member of this site.

Thanks,
Andy

Make sure you are zoned properly, otherwise you are wasting your time. The "interview" isn't anything to sweat. They'll just want to know your business plan and to review records and regulations with you.

Thanks, the zoning inspector is going to look at my requirements next week. I have the app filled out and the fingerprint card ready to get printed. Should have the app in within the next week or so. I'm a little nervous, but looking forward to it. Took DogtownTom's advice from TFL...and his advice to join here. Hope the process goes easy.

It's pretty straight forward. Interview lasted 55 minutes, basically going over forms and laws, more of an educational session than actual interview... I'm now a home based 07. He did check zoning before the interview (fortunately I'm outside city limits, so no zoning...)

I submitted my app Wednesday, a couple more hoops to jump through to make sure I comply with zoning and I should be good to go!

I'm going through the same thing. I think my zoning will get approved but I have to buya state tax permit to submit zoning. Does anyone have a checklist to cover what they inspect or remember some sample questions. Thanks

My friend applied for a home based FFL and he has audio of the 2 hour long interview on his website.
