Anyone else having trouble with renewing their FFL? I and now on my second LOA . In 23 years of being a FFL holder this is only the second time I have had to get a LOA.

I had my first renewal this year, license expiration date was Oct 1st
Sent in my renewal fee in July, the day after ATF sent me the bill.
They sent me a LOA in August.

I had one dealer in North Carolina refuse to ship to me "because your FFL is expired and that LOA means nothing"
I called my IOI and he said he would expedite my renewal.

Two days later my new FFL arrived

Never did figure out why they just didn't send the new FFL instead of an LOA to begin with.

My first xfer was an LOA. I was like WTF? Could not find anything in CFR or Regs.

I was buying so it did not matter, but at least I knew what it was from then on.

I've had my FFL since '93 and this past year I got the LOA. They were very slow!
