State laws/restrictions and where NOT to send guns/ammo/parts to.

I know there are so many laws that it is hard to follow them all. I often see disclaimers such as "we cannot possibly know your laws. You are responsible to verify legality in your area". Is that really sufficient?

I also see statements such as "will not ship to NY, DC, NJ, etc", which makes me believe that an FFL would be responsible for sending a restricted firearm to a state, even if he sends it to an FFL.

So is there a list somewhere of restricted items listed by state?

I dont want to not send a gun to someone in a less free state just because I am not knowledgeable. At the same time, I dont like Prison.

So...?

I suggest contacting the receiving FFL prior to shipping. They should be able to advise you on the GO and NO GO items.

I would think in many cases it wouldn't be a problem for you to send it to the other FFL. He is likely allowed to possess it to sell to other dealers/ and police.

Not in every case perhaps ( In CA I think they have a special license to have hi caps, and assault weapons possibly ? )

If the buyer can't claim it from his ffl, oh well not your problem.

This is the position we would rather NOT take. Granted, it may in fact not be our problem but we would rather be part of the solution vs. contributing to a problem. We like to be proactive prior to finalizing the sale and shipping as this prevents issues.

This is my thought.

And I agree, I would probably try and work something out also, but I am just saying legally I don't think you'd have a problem.
