I've wanted to get my FFL for years.....Now that I'm getting into the tactical side of firearms I want it even more....I've read a lot of home FFL stories of being denied because it's not a store front....which I don't buy...so far I got my home occupation permit signed by my city for running a gun business out of my house. It has restrictions. One of them was retail sales....they would rather me deliver it to the customer...I called my county office and all they needed was my business name and EIN number and said they would send me a packet in the mail at the first of the year....I won't worry about state tax ID since I will have some time to do this after getting approved. I'm applying for my FFL 1 ....200 dollar one. I'm zoned for residential but my city allows all to do home occupation with restrictions....I'm allowed a small sign, 3 customers max at one time, blah blah....Anyone that has went thru the process lately let me know if I need to do some other things...I plan on going down the my local PD and take the CLEO his copy and get finger printed
Split your sentences, observe punctuation - it's not about you, it's about others who have to read your posts.
As long as your premises is a legal location from which to conduct business, which it sounds like you've covered with your city home occupation permit, then you'll be approved.
I've run my 07/C2 manufacturing business from my R1-zoned home in a subdivision for more than a decade, on the strength of a city-issued home-occupation permit.

ATF doesn't care if its a cardboard box in your backyard....as long as you can legally do business oy will be approved.

Nope...and it's a BIG nope. You can only do business at your licensed premises or an event like a gun show. No home deliveries.
Yep....I didn't tell him that part, but he signed it, so I'll just run with it,
Permit application was weird. It had a spot asking if their would be retail goods....I marked it yes. I will make it work, I guess when the ATF ask me how I plan on providing the products to the customers I will tell them I will ship it to another FFL dealer that the customer provides?
Thanks for the input and sorry for the "run on" paragraph...slopped it all together at work.
