say you have to enter 20 lowers, all the same, only diff is serial. Can you log 1 line completely and then just enter each serial on a different line and draw lines down for the other fields?
thanks
something like this

aa bb 123 cc dd

If it's similar to dittos then no, you have to fill out everything even if it's the same.

Not according to my last three IOI's..........all three said "no problem".
(And I just had my compliance inspection last week)

Wait until you get a new IOI and he makes you change them. And yes, I know an FFL that happened to. He was PO'ed!

I specifically asked that question also during my interview for sending lowers out for plating and then back in.

I was told I could use "1" line for the whole batch. Saying the serials were "0001-0025".

After reading this thread, I may do a little more research prior to trying this in my book.

That isn't correct.

Like I said, I will have to look into it more. The reason I asked during my interview is because if you have 200 lowers to "log out" in the book for anodizing and 200 to "log in", that's alot of lines everytime...

Might be value added to get an electronic system to automate this type of transferring in and out.

That is BS...make up the rules as we go and by the way..."do as I say and not as I do"...hint hint..."fast and furious"!

Just got off the phone with my IOI on this topic...she stated that drawing the line is ok as long as it is obvious the firearms are the same with exception of the serial number. She also stated that in the past this was considered a no no but recently they have been instructed to allow this practice.

Spoke with her again late Friday...letter is inbound.

Doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency between IOIs. Whats new?

In our interview earlier this year, we were specifically told not to use any ditto marks or draw lines down in this situation.

A friend of mine had to stop transfers while he redid years of his A&Ds to correct where he used dittos. Now that you can use an electronic A&D just do that and cut and paste. If your doing that many lowers it makes the most sense and you're covered regardless of which IOI you have.

With ATF it's always better safe than sorry. Just use excel and do it that way.

I use paper and electronic bound books... so if they don't like the paper handwritten bound book, I can always print out a complete A&D off the computer.

I was told the lines were OK as long as the first and last entry are complete.

I never do it with serial numbers, but will do it in the other columns...
