Has anyone played with the new Hornady 70gr .224" GMX bullet??
I picked up a box of 50 locally. I'm having decent success with the 70gr TSX and TAC, and I figured these would be worth a try for the same uses: barrier penetration and hunting of deer sized game.
FYI there is no plastic tip like the larger caliber GMX bullets.
Anyone loaded any yet?
No, it's the first I've heard of this. Very interested though. Tell me more.
What's the projectile length vs the 70gr tsx?
Length is similar to the 70gr TSX, but I don't have any of the 70's that are not loaded to take a comparison picture. It has two cannelures, and the bullet shape itself is similar to the 75gr BHTP. There is more bearing surface on the Hornady vs the TSX bullet.
Price for 50 was similar to the TSX, at about $24.00...
