This is starting to driving me insane. I have a 4 hole turret press and the primer arm likes to fall out rather often. After cleaning the arm and ram, I did a test run of 50 rounds. 10 times that arm fell out on me! Doing a little searching around the net, I don't seem to be alone in the issue. Anyone have any tips or tricks?

I've found that any burrs , even minuscule ones can cause the arm to hang and try to ride out of the slot. Running a file or stone across the edges helps remove them. Does the pivot pin the primer arm sit on appear undamaged? I just checked my Lee turret and the primer arm will not come out with the shell holder in place.

Could be the arm too. I have a lee breechlock single stage, the small primer arm I never have any trouble with but the large primer arm falls out all the time. I don't use the large one much so I never bothered trying to do anything about it

Mine stays put, it just sort of sucks. The only things that helped me were a good trimming of flash, adjusting (read bending), and keeping at least 20 primers in it. My fix that could help you most was to buy an RCBS universal hand primer. $35 well spent! Plus it's portable, I primed 500ish 223 brass today while on my route, LOL. In front of the TV works too provided you don't get so involved you quit checking your work.

Which turret press do you have? I suspect you may have the Classic? The arm will in fact come out on mine with the shell holder in place. I will have to take another look but I hadn't seen any burrs.
