Just bought a few boxes of 55 gn V-Max bullets and I'm having trouble finding any load data for H335, Varget or IMR 4198. Anyone have some min/max load data so I can start working up some loads? Thanks guys.

I recommend the Hornady 8th edition reloading manual. It will have the data your looking for.

I have this printed out for reference, unfortunately it doesn't have any data for 55 grain V-max bullets.

If I kind remember we ran 25 grains of hogden powder on the 55s and 28 on some 77 grain sierras. The 55 v-max shoot pretty straight, most of mine are 60 grains though.

27 grains Varget and 55 VMAX make VERY accurate rounds in MY barrel.
This IS a MAX load! I run a 24" barrel and a carrier weight , so work up for your own load....

I can only find the 7th edition available, including from Hornady. is 8th edition even out yet?

I've developed two loads using the 55 V-max out of a 24" broach cut 4 land barrel using Reloader 7 and AA 2015. I've noticed these loads are .4-.5 grains less than the accuracy velocity of 2900 fps listed in the Sierra manual. Probably because of my barrel length.
