Barrel and Barrel Block cracked after only 2000 rounds. (Fixed under warranty. THX)
I knew something was wrong when spent shells were ejected with a tear in them (see below), turns out, both my barrel and barrel block are cracked.
What I don't understand is how this could happen after only 2000 rounds.
WTF?
I guess I'll have to call ATI and thank God my GSG is only 3 months old and still under warranty?
Here's what it looks like:
BTW, I made sure to always use good ammo, usually Federal Champion.
Hello,
My name is Chris please call me at 1-800-290-0065 ext 141. I will be able to help you with your situation. Please have your serial number off your gun when calling.
Alright, fast response to a serious problem another good mark for you chris and ATI. I do thank you for all your hard work.
We thank you guys and gals for being our customers!!!!!!

Well, I trust that "Gus" the OP will edit his thread title to say "RESOLVED BY ATI" if and when he gets satisfaction from ATI...
When ATI gives good customer service then we need to show that in these threads. Don't leave these negative thread titles sitting out there to poison the waters.

I agree thank you very much!!!

Waiting for the call...................................................
I already called today actually and mailed it.
My RMA# is 3271.
Very prompt service indeed, just hope it doesn't take too long.

since everyone in here seems to be so happy with ati's service I have edited my response. I will give them one more try
I have the same problem and will be calling ati with the above number tomorrow
Just got my replacement parts today!
13 day turn around! 1 day less than it took to get a replacement drum.
I hope it lasts longer than 2000 rounds this time!
Thanks.

I'm wondering if I should take a millimeter or 2 off of the bolt cover so it doesn't "smack" hard into the barrel block.
Has anyone does this and is it worth doing?
I want to make sure my bolt jacket doesn't crack like some people's or warp like mine did once already.
