I got my gun on friday, was looking at it today, noticed one of the little plugs that fills the holes on each side of the handguard, on top is missing, and while handing the gun, the other one fell out. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone have a part number so i can get some new ones, i havnt even fired it yet!

You can purchase replacements for airsoft SD handguard. They fit fine. I bought some from Evike.com when I had a GSG (mine stayed in but I purchased a few extras, just in case).

Good luck w/ ATI on this. Their customer service sucks, and their rep(chris) will be in here shortly to tell you to be patient. Ive been trying to get a hold of them for two weeks now about a broken handguard. I sent off an email to GSG Gmbh (with names) about ATI's useless customer service practices. Will update......

What plugs are you talking about? My 2nd generation sd doesn't have any plug son the handguard that I have noticed and I've had it off many times. is yours a 522 model? Any pics?

Both of mine fell off first time out. Fortunately, the first one fell into my hand and when I realized what it was, I noticed the 2nd one was loose just sitting in the hole. I just super glued them back in and they have been fine since.

The top rail of my 522 isn't strong enough to hold an Aimpoint clone tight. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with that. Otherwise, I'm liking the weapon alot. I was just sitting down to install the conversion kit (back to GSG-5), upgraded bolts, and buffer. I hope it all goes smooth.

Good luck with ATI.

The best solution that I came up with was replace the front hand gard with an RIS from Zairsoft.com.

I know the SD look is popular but it's been put together poorly. In the end, the metal RIS looks and feels better IMHO.

Not a bad idea. I'm still wondering what I'm going to do with my GSG since its the most unreliable gun I own. Seems like the design just wasn't right.
