Ive been really liking the new BFG50A serbu is producing now. have since been in contact with Mark and its extremely hard to keep in contact with him on simple questions about his new rifle... anyways, I was really wanting to get a semi auto, but the Bushy BA-50 seems to offer some great things without the CS issues. it may be better accuracy with the bolt action, it still offers a 10rd mag for easy loading of surplus or ball ammo, I have the option of manual loading single A-Max type bullets, I know for sure It can take a suppressor, I can score a new one for 3900.00 from Buds shipped, and I have heard nothing but good things about Bushmaster's Customer Service. Are there any issues with these rifles I should know about? Ive heard some contained stories of ejector issues. One account I read said the machining is cheap and that mags just fell apart while shooting. I do not plan on shooting matches, I just want decent accuracy out to 600 yards or so (maybe 1moa if its not too much to ask with match ammo). the extra 3 grand I save will help go towards a suppressor, maybe the Ops Inc or even the Cyclops.
I am not sure who started the internet bullshit about the 82A1 and BFG-50A not being able to magazine feed the A-Max bullet, but that information is not correct. In fact, the factory Hornady A-Max ammo is loaded to an OAL that fits in the magazine just fine.

thanks for the clearup Tony. I only have the convoluted forum posts to go from as Ive never had the chance to shoot either.

I believe the issue is the OAL of an AMAX-loaded round when the bullet is loaded to approach the lands for optimum accuracy. There is a difference between "bullet" and "cartridge."
...saw this pic posted by a new 50a owner over at the Serbu website... :)
