Bushmaster BA50 trigger upgrade/rework and carry handle
It's time to improve my trigger. Any feedback on gunsmiths/products would be appreciated. I've heard the Barrett carry handle works well on the fore end rail. I have not seen it so I'm looking for feedback there too.
More searching has led me to Bill Springfield at triggerwork.net. I'll let you know how it turns out. BTW I've been lurking on this site for several years. I have not had to ask any questions because I've been able to find answers by searching the site. Thank you to all who ask and respond. Jim
Looking forward to your post triggerwork assessment.
I have one of the original COBB BA50 rifles and had a local gunsmith work the trigger and she breaks at a nice crisp 2lbs. I have shot many 50 matches since and has totally changed the ability of the rifle. Good luck with the trigger you will be happy after getting it lightend up. Yes the Barrett handle works fine.
I got the trigger back today, well 10 minutes ago anyway...I installed and noticed an improvement right away. Prior to Bills's work it was at 9# using my lyman trigger pull gauge. Now it's 4.5# +- a few ounces according to the trigger gauge during a 10 pull test. I'm very satisfied with the work. The rest of my AR platforms use a JP setup and are a little lighter but comparable. I have not slammed the bolt home a few times yet, but I will before placing a round in the chamber. Just in case.....
