Ar-15 lightning link question...
As my profile says I live in ny... I do not. I currently reside in PA and have a residence in NY as well. My question:
Is it legal for someone to make a lightning link and use it for personal use? I'm sure I'll get bashed for asking but since i'm a noob and found plans online I'd rather not get in any trouble. It seems like a child could make one. How well do they work. ? Do they damage any internals on the rifle?
No, not legal.
Just no.

Huh?
You as a individual cannot manufacture a machine gun unless you have a SOT/Manufacturing lic. The machine gun had to have been registered prior to 1968 IIRC.

1986.

lol.
The Firearms Owner Protection Act of 1986 banned manufacture of MGs for civilian ownership effective May 19, 1986. Only MGs made and registered prior to that date may legally be owned by civilians.
A Registered Lightning Link today is ten cents' worth of metal, backed by a $7,000 document proving it was made prior to May 19, 1986.
well thats a bunch of Bull shat

Maybe they didn't install Solitaire on the computers at the ATF. The F-troop boys are bored.
Lol yea illegal.
It is BS, but it's the way it is. You can buy one for less than $10,000 though and it's a great investment unless the ban gets repealed.
Anyone know if good ol' Hughes is still alive?
