I'm thinking about going Safe/Auto for my Shrike, does anyone make selector that offers Auto in the semi position without semi?

I would just use a AR-15 selector switch and don't install the disconector, should make it safe and auto only.

No. You'll have to make your own or have it made for you.

The poster before me is partially correct. A semi selector and no disconnector will work for a DIAS gun, but not a real sear gun.

A sear gun would need the semi selector to be notched in the correct place to allow a real auto sear to pivot forward and engage the hammer, or the auto sear leg would need to be ground down to allow the auto sear to pivot forward without the cutout in the selector.

Perfect! I'm running a DIAS so this will be ideal. Thanks for the replies.

I think Joel Cramer in CT still does.

In CT we can only have SAFE/FULL....no select fire b/c that would be an "Assualt Rifle" as defined by the CT General Assembly, and those are ILLEGAL! No, I'm not joking. The law really is that dumb.

If we come out with the IAR selector, it would be Safe, Auto, and Semi (instead of Safe, Semi, Auto)

Count me in for one if you do!

Could you make it the 45* throw too

What will you do with the selector engravings? This is the problem we struggled with when we brought the semi auto, 45 degree selectors to market. A 45/90 degree compatible receiver isn't expensive or difficult to get, but a lower marked for IAR type or short throw M16 selector will have to be post sample

Do the engravings technically have to match up? I remember this being brought up before, but unless there is no legality issues with it... The fact none of my markings would match up could bother me in the least.

They don't have to, with the 45 degree semi auto it just created a liability problem for us, as there is no marking at 10 o'clock, which is the 45 degree selector's new FIRE position.

But my lower has the markings in the 45* orientation

Damn that's at the top of my list of what I'd add to my m16!!!

As soon as we're done with the projects that we've been working on, we'll embark on the IAR and M16 short throw selectors

Ohhh, I like that!

The only time I would want the semi would be for zeroing, so I definitely like it in the third position.

As for the markings, I'm doing a 80% custom lower like the Ares AMG-1, I should finish it up over Thanksgiving so I can have it engraved anyway I choose.
