Can anyone give me information or direct me to any info to learn more about these? There is one for sale nearby that looks like it would be a great blaster. My search for arfcom informtion has not been fruitful

I own one and it has been great. The only negative I have is that the mag well is tight and PMAGs do not drop freely from it. EMAGs work great though.

What is the asking price?

Below is a link to my build thread.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

Nothing wrong with a frankfort. I had one for a while. The mag well was a little tight, but it could be opened up with little to no issue, I'd suggest M60joe if it needs it. If its local to you, see if you can get a test shoot on it. If it runs alright, and the price is fair, I'd have no problems buying one.

My understanding is that these were semi auto stainless steel lower receivers that were converted into full auto registered receivers. Around 100 were converted and registered before the '86 ban. They usually sell for what a Colt M16 RR sells for or above. Since they are SS they are much stronger than an aluminum receiver. The downside is they are much heavier.

I've only heard of the Group Ind being stainless and being numbered at about 100 transferable; never heard of a SS FrankfordArsenal receiver. Are you sure that info is correct?

Scott,
I think you have the wrong lower in mind. Frankfords where not SS. Group industries was the only one making SS lowers that were converted. DPMS also made some SS lowers, but they weren't around at the time to have been registered as an MG.

My FA runs like a top. The upper fits too tight on my Spikes upper but Colt/LMT upper fit nice and run like a sewing machine.
