I have a registered receiver M16 and was wondering if there are any mods needed to fit a 9mm upper on it? I know if I was running an AR with a lighning link I would need a specially machined carrier. What about a RR? Will a standard 9mm upper work in FA?

heavy buffer in the lower, make sure the bolt is ramped or it will wear the lower
see pistol cla forums
You will need...
-9mm Buffer or a heavy 5.56 buffer with a spacer in the buffer tube
-9mm Upper preferably with a ramped bolt, some have said that a non ramped bolt will knock your hammer pin hole out of round
-9mm Mag block for the lower to accept 9mm mags.
I set up with a Colt model 635 9mm upper complete. I sent the bolt to M60Joe to have the bolt ramped and parkerized. I ordered the 9Q buffer and wolf extra power buffer spring from Slash, Heavybuffers.com. I bought the 9mm magblock from spikes tactical. I ordered the OEM metalform magzines form CDNN. I had two Colt 9mm SMG mags that came with the upper. I also bought a three lug adapter from M60Joe in 1/2X36 thread and torque it to 35 inch pounds with rockset. KNS hammer and trigger pins are a must to keep from egging out the reciever hole and to prevent pins from walking out. Then I put my Gemtech MK9K suppressor on it and went to town. This setup worked the first time out with ZERO problems. Your mileage may vary. Hope that helps,Ronnie.
