Serbu Shorty, OSOE micro rig and SKT Serbu holster

Finally got to play with the Serbu. In short (pardon the pun) the Serbu functions flawlessly.
I blasted tracers/00 buck/slugs/breacher rounds down the pipe without any hiccups whatsoever.
I also tested the new OSOE shotgun micro chest rig out. This rig was a lot of fun and allowed
fast reloads. My Serbu only holds 3-rounds, one in the pipe and one chambered so having the shells
up close and personal was a big advantage. The Voodoo 24 round molle pouch attached to the SKT
Serbu holster is a great add on but adds weight, something that really doesn't concern myself. The SKT
Serbu holster is a must have and can be attached to almost anything via molle straps. The Knoxx
breacher grip takes half of the felt recoil away so it was a pleasure to shoot the Serbu Shorty.

Blachawk tether for Walther P22 attached to OSOE rig.

Walther P22 magazines inside the OSOE chest rig.

4x4 lumber meets a slug from the Serbu.

Thanks for looking.

nice! i got a REM870 receiver SSS. i love mine as well. i have the SKD drop leg holster in OD Green.

did you have any metal shaving in your magazine tube? i ask because i had soooooo many shavings, it scratched up my magazine follower and jammed up my gun and scratched the hell out of the bolt. i was not happy.

Nice, very nice. What pistol grip is that you are running? Also is that the Rem or Moss receiver?

I didn't have any shaving issues but mine came with a mesa tactical side saddle that wouldn't allow the serbu to fit in the holster
it was a simple task of removing it and now it works great, love the holster.

It's a Knoxx recoil absorbing breacher grip. It's a Mossberg receiver. I prefer Mossy's over 870's
just because I cut my teeth on them first.

Do you notice a big difference with that grip? The stock one is pretty brutal.

Yes, big difference. I'll post a video sometimes this weekend showing a
one handed shot vs a two handed shot.

Your right about the factory pistol grip it's definitely brutal.

nice toy!
however, please forgive the ignorance..... at its core, its a pump shotgun. how can it hiccup on different rounds?

my SSS with a REM870 receiver hiccups once and awhile. i think its the cheap military buckshot rounds (or smaller rimmed rounds) because it has never hiccuped using "nicer" rounds like Remington, Winchester, etc. but as always.... YMMV

on a side note, i need to get a different grip, but i want a Hogue grip.

upon extraction sometimes the shell won't come out all the way. like the extractor slips off the shell, but ive only had very few of those and they are always with cheap rounds. it always goes bang though.

I didn't know saying hiccup would create such hysteria. I'll be honest, I didn't know the word hiccup
had clout as an issue with firearms. I should edit hiccup out and replace it with
no problems whatsoever. Anyway, my bad. It is a simple shotgun.

hiccup is actually a common gun word to describe how a gun runs, so you were spot on.
however, I was curious if there was something that serbu did/whatever that would make one of the most reliable weapons in the world (pump shotgun) less reliable when they started messing with it.
my interest is based in the fact that I kinda want a SBS (and am not trying to stir any shit just for fun). I didnt know if there were "known issues" with the SSS for some reason or something similar. hence my surprise that the function of a pump gun (that doesnt seem to have the receiver messed with) would ever be addressed.
