Pic of PTR PDW

Anyone do one yet? What stock did you use? Has anyone put a wide handguard on one and is it the same as an MP5 handguard? Any help is appreciated, pictures would be cooler.

I'm in the process of getting one done. I'm using a standard A1 stock due to living in CT. I think (and I'm not sure) that the fore end from the HK 33/93 models would fit.

The MP5 handguard should fit but to look right you would want an HK53 handguard.

I like the look of the vented handguard myself but here is a pic of the regular HK53 handguard on a 53 style gun (just to show the handguard)

Hey, I don't mean to hijack your thread but I am curious what folks feel is better built and why...PTR or Vector?

I saw a .308 pistol and had to have it, was on the vector wait list for a while, but found one local for a good price and drove a bit to get it.

this was about 3-4 years ago, I have since then SBR'd it. the mp5 handguard does in fact fit, but there is a ugly gap at the back. the 53 handguard is much smoother looking.

mine has been 100% reliable since day one, pistol form as well as SBR form, all sorts of ammo. I usually shoot mine with the standard A2 stock, but picked up an old style collapsable just for fun (which by the way, it is not, recoil is a killer with the slider stock)

I dont like the fact that the recoil rod needs to be altered to work, Id rather be able to use just regular HK parts, but whatever.

the report from this thing is LOUD, really loud. good ear protection is a must. the cheap foam earplugs give you the feeling that something is pressing on your eardrum.

the fireball is pretty impressive, but the 53(5.56) is actually bigger.

with my buddies sear in it, mag dumps are very fun, but of the group, my 6'6 frame was the only one that could actually get thru 20 rounds standing.

fit and finish on mine is as good as my PTR.

all and all, I would do it again, although it is more of a fun gun than anything else. not much utility in an 8"bbl .308.
