correct. i live in the Peoples Republic of the Commonwealth of MassaUSELESS, and they are perfectly legal. As long as I don't shoot "anti-personnel" rounds.

I have one of the 9" Side Loaders on their Kaos Stock System. I bought some of the firework's rounds for it and was a ton of fun on the 4th of July. I also went with the 26.5mm Adapter to shoot the inexpensive Czech flares. I would like to DD it down the road and be able to shoot the anti-personnel rounds, but that is not high on my priorety list.

Gotta love these DD"d Spike's Tactical HAVOC along with their KAOS stand alone system. The first thing I did was to register it as a DD. I have never launched a single flare but have launched plenty of Practice Chalk, Beehive, Marking Paint, Smoke, and my favorite; the homemade Flaschette rounds.

Can you after register put a real 203 barrel in the Havoc......

Two different animals. An M203 barrel mounts to it's receiver in a completely different fashion and will not interchange with the HAVOC receiver.

So those rounds are all 37mm? Where do you get your hulls and reloading stuff for them? Chalk rounds that is.

No it's a mix of 40mm and 37mm rounds. I registered my HAVOC as a Destructive Device and then purchased a second barrel. I had one bored out to 40mm and kept one as a 37mm so my HAVOC can revert back to it's original DD'd form according to NFA rules. I could have just registered it as a 40mm on only launch 40mm rounds but I did not think of that when I sent in my Form1.

There's absolutely no requirement or "NFA rule" to retain the registered configuration. Once it's registered as a DD -or SBS, or MG or SBR for that matter- you may change barrel length, caliber and OAL configurations at will, which includes selling the parts that made up the registered configuration. NFA Branch will note the change in configuration on a subsequent transfer, if it's ever transferred.

I'd like to find the guy that started this rumor and kick him in the nuts...

Y'all ought to give the NFA handbook a read.

where did you get the 2nd barrel? just curious since this way would be much cheaper than going with say lmt for a 203

Extra barrel came directly from Spikes and I had it bored out by a local tool and die maker.

What was the approx cost for them to do this for you, and what was the cost for the extra barrel.

Bore job was $40 (I no longer live in that state so I am not sure who can do it now) and an extra barrel is either $125 or $150.

I've pretty much decided I'm going to purchase the Spike's 37mm rail-mounted launcher to play with.
Only thing I haven't decided is standard configuration or side-loading.
Any suggestions from anyone? Or reasons I should just save my money?

The last time I talked to Spike he had NO plans to do so. That was about eight or ten months ago but you can always call and find out. They always answer the phone.
