Can I get a M203 in Connecticut??

If so doesnt it have to be a special DD dealer or can any class 3 dealer do it??

According to Bardwell's NFA FAQ, Yes. You might want to check to get updated info, as things can and do change sometimes.

I owned the 60 mm mortar before I moved to Connecticut and still do. So, when I moved in and out of Connecticut the BATFE approved the move each way on a Form 5320.20. When I lived in Connecticut, I bought a suppressor. Joel Cramer in Wallingford helped me with the transfer for the suppressor.

Yes - DD's are legal in CT. But since there is only a handful of DD FFLs in the country one way to do it is have it transferred to your local 01 FFL. He can have it transferred directly but he has to pay the transfer tax so it will go on a Form 4 tax paid.

If you pay the tax you can transfer as many as you want. A class 2 or 3 can occasionally transfer a DD from a DD dealer or manufacturer tax free if there is no DD dealer in the recipients state. This is done at the whim of the NFA branch and they don't have to do it. The tax paid transfers are no problem though.

I have delt with Joel many times in the past..

So if I buy a LMT M203 I can have it transfered in through any class 3 dealer??

Yup.

If you want to save some money, but a M203 minus the barrel. The barrel is what makes it a DD. No barrel = Title I (standard) gun, just like an AR receiver. File a Form 1 to build a DD and get a barrel after approval.

JoJo's had an M203 a few years ago. I am pondering an M203 as a post deployment gift for myself when I get home but don't see the wife going for it. If you do decide to get one, I've got a rail grabber leaf sight for one if you need it.
