 CCI .22 Quiet Ammo

I picked up 500 rounds of this "Quiet" ammo to play with.

http://www.cci-ammunition.com/whatsnew/newproducts.aspx

CCI's website says "Better performance than an air rifle with similar noise levels".

The part about similar noise level of an air rifle, is a little far fetched in my opinion. It is quieter, but still to loud to shoot in the backyard without drawing attention.

It won't cycle the 10/22, but it is much quieter than standard 22 round.

Anyways, just thought I'd share.

yeah, that part is a little far fetched, I use these in my Marlin XT22TR to rid my In-Laws yard of squirrels and nobody seems to notice, sounds like a small firecracker. I definitely like using them, they're consistent and don't lead up the barrel. If you have a suppressor these would probably be great

I have shot about half a brick so far and they are really quiet
No powder just a hopped up primer
I have only shot them from a rifle though the directions say handgun only
never had one fail to exit the barrel

I havn't tried those that you're talking about yet but I like to shoot the CCI CB Long's. They are about the same noise level as an air rifle out of a 10/22. They aren't powerful enough to cycle the bolt but they will still kill a squirrel. I haven't shot them out of my Buckmark yet though.

IDK how long your barrel is, but I shoot Wolf (SSK) match ammo and it's scary quiet out of my non-suppressed rifles (18" bbls). Even out of my 10/22 with bolt slap it's louder going through the cardboard target than coming out of the rifle.

Interesting. CCI .22 CB Shorts out of my bolt gun are pretty quiet, I wonder how they compare.

How does this compare to the CCI CB Long 29-Grain bullet at 710 FPS?

Both appear to use the standard 22LR case.

ETA: 40Gn bullet Vs. 29Gn. Wonder if the CB Long makes less noise?

Regular colibri has been my go to pest control load for a long time.

Way better than the CCI stuff, I use it all the time. The bolt is louder than the round going off.
