I want another rifle. Choose for me!
So I am coming into some money soon and want to get another rifle. I really wanted a .50BMG (ALS, Serbu, or Lar Grizz), but have come to the reality that there is nowhere to shoot it. For a 500-yd range, I'd have to join a gun club with outrageous dues and even more rediculous rules. Even then, I don't know if they allow the BMG. I would like to get into long-range shooting, but like I said...nowhere to do it.
Basically, I'm into 'assault' rifles. I have 3-4 AK's, 2 AR's, a couple SKS's....I had a DSA FAL recently too.
Something that shoots 5.56 or x39 would be a plus...but not necessary.
I really, really want a Springfield M1A. Almost bought one before I settled on the FAL, and wished I did.
Maybe an AR-10?
Maybe .308 is what I want next...
Maybe I just answered my own question...
Basically, I don't know what's out there that I might be interested in.
LMT 308
SIG 308 or 5.56
MSAR STG-556
or
Keltec RFB

A 308 AR. How much we talkin?

308 18inch AR with magpul 20 rnd is the way to go.
m1 garand
Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle
what's the budget? Long range shooting I'd prefer a custom bolt gun in .260 but I'd be around 8k the way I'd like it.
Maybe check out a Larue OBR in .308. You'll need to budget another 1k AT LEAST for glass though.
How about something class 3?
I have 3-4 AK's,
I love this! do you not know how many AKs you have?

PTR-91 GI
Mags are cheap. Ammo isn't though

LRB M25
GA Precision rifle
M1 Garand
Shuffs mini G

I came this >< close to buying one a couple years ago. I heard rumors at the time that MSAR was going under at the time, so I slapped a BCM together instead.

Budget could be around $2k. If it's an AR of some sorts, I'd rather keep the price around 1200 and buy a couple thousand rounds to go with it. If it's a M1A with a nice scope on it and accessories, I could drop the whole 2k on it. It just depends on what interests me the most.
Class 3? If I could find a LL for $3k I would be all over it! I'm going to buy a pistol upper from Model 1 Sales next week and a RRA pistol lower. I will register my Colt lower (LE6920) as a SBR so I can swap the upper back and forth. I'm not into suppressors (yet).
And about the AK's....I have a Milled MAK-90 still sealed in the plastic in the original box. I tend to forget about it as it lives in the back corner of my safe.

I've thought about turning it into a shooter...but just can't bring myself to do it. I've also thought about selling/trading it so someone else could put it to good use..
Get an M1 Garand from the Civilian Marksmasnship Program (CMP). Also, take up competition shooting in the CMP as it will improve your marksmanship ability.
Build or 308 AR or build a 5.56 pistol.

I'm in the process of the pistol now. I'm gonna order the upper on Monday.

This...............very accurate (MOA anyway), very utilitarian, and relatively cheap to shoot. With a good load, it can take anything in the southern 48, it can defend your homestead, and is quite fun shooting at the range.
If Ruger would make this in a 5.56 offering, as well as a larger in a .338 Federal or similar purposeful round, then world would make more sense.
