What do you use for home defense weapon?
I used to keep a spx-930 tactical with 2 lights mounted to one switch, and a custom safety, First round was always non lethal followed by the fireworks...,
I recently switched to a 5" 1911 with the first round is a CCI shot shell and then corbons, which my buddy made me a custom gun hold for, that hides easily and is spring loaded so you push it in, and it popps out on a 3 sided draw... I told him he should market it, but hes just says "someday", I stained mine to match my bed, you can not find it if you dont know where it is...
Anyway, what do you use, and whats ammo do you keep in it???
870 12ga
AR15 Carbine with TAP
Glock 19 is always by the bed side and an AR12 w/ light isn't far away.
CCW (G29) in the nightstand, 930SPX full of 00B with Surefire G2X in the closet.
Why are you wasting capacity on wrist-slap rounds?

Model 10 with 158 gr. LSWC's.
My 20" AR is also there if it's really needed.

A CCI shot shell? You might as well throw some sand at the guy.
G23
if I think it's bad enough my M4 - layout of my house makes it possible to check and retreat to where it's kept - plus hit a panic button
Para GI Expert w/ Hornady Zombie Max(yes I know they're gimmicky, but that's what's in there for now).
Backup if needed is the AR w/ Hornady 55g Match HP.

You really need to re-think that.

Esp when the shotshell jams up the works and fails to cycle the slide. Mixing any ammunition in a semi-auto anything is just plain FAIL.
Raging Judge, 6 shots....2-Dupo 7, 2-PDX1, 2-.454 Casull

+1000. That's not only ineffective, but a huge liability to your safety, and bunch of other stuff...
Whatever is closest at the time... but generally Glock 22 with Rem. Golden Sabers. If that doesn't do it then i will work my way up from there...870-> AR-> M1A->etc.etc.If it gets real nasty then out comes the 82A1. Hope that will do it

Are you trying to give them a sporting chance??

Mossberg 12 ga. w/ 00 Buck on the 1st floor (also for outside territory use). Nightstand upstairs = SA XD .40. Carry gun Ruger LC9 also nearby.
King James Bible
One of the big honkers used for family history
olyarms 16" MATCH upper with leapers duel red/green optic.
I put a couple boxes wolf (dirtiest I could find) through it and I know that its plenty reliable. I bet it is as good as the expensive rifles peopel like to waste their money on. It sure is accurate at 200 yards, especially with the green "target" setting. The wolf HP ammo will also explode violently when in hits human flesh as well. It also has a recording of a racking shotgun on a mp3 player I taped to the side, in case I dont want to shoot but scare the person away.
Springfield 67, loaded with 7 rounds of 00 buck.
Officers model 1911, loaded with 7 rounds of 230 gr. Cor-Bons
NM AR loaded with 20 rounds of 69 gr. Sierra Match King handloads....for the 4 legged critters

My wife and i both are well acquainted with the handling of each of these weapons, and we both know where every magazine for every weapon is stashed in the room.
Surely this wouldn't be considered excessive, would it? Of course, here lately, Arfcom has surprised me.
mossy 935. 3+1 , 3 1/2 #4 buck

Agreed. So, the first shot in the shotgun fails to cycle and may, in a best case scenario, temporarily incapacitate. Then comes a peppering by tiny shot. Even if fired into the eyes and face that plan of action seems poor.
