870 Duracoat
Planning on using Duracoat on my 870 Home Defense. I am trying to decide if I should mask the threads on the Magazine extension. If anyone has painted the threads I would love to know how it turned out. It seems like this part of the gun is tight right now. I was thinking it would probably loosen up after some use and more cleanings.
Do you have a magazine extension tube on your shotgun? What I did when I painted my 870 is I left my extension on the gun. One to hold it so it was easier to paint and two so that the threads wouldn't get painted.
My 870 has a factory two piece magazine extension.
Just leave it on when you paint. Threads will be covered and you don't have to find another way to hold the extension.
