Can I coat a knurled part?
I have a Hogue knurled aluminum handgaurd that I machined out a series of vent holes in. I have stripped the remaining anodizing off, but now I want to recoat it flat black. Has anyone coated a part that has knurling on it?
And if so what did you use. My concern is being able to uniformly apply it thin enough to coat it and not so much as to fill in the knurled sections.
Thanks,
Rob
I do stuff like this all the time.....it depends on what you are using and how you apply it. Cerakote goes on nice and thin and is more durable then all the others. I use a good quality HVLP gun and years of practice to make sure I get nice even coverage and not too thick.
