642 refinishing
after 4 years of edc as a bug and occasionally primary carry it is looking pretty rough any ideas about duracoat or some other finish that would be durable enough for edc.If i choose an epoxy are the tolerances where the crane meets the frame so tight that I need to mask it off or is it ok to paint it all? Any tutorials on duracoating revolvers in here? Thanks for the help.
DuraCoat will work for what you want to do. If applied correctly it wont have any clearance issues.Steve @ Lauer Custom weaponary has a good "how to apply" video.
Personally I'd recommend a bake on finish like CeraKote or GunKote for their wear and abrasion resistance.
Here is a how to in a nut shell: Disassemble, clean, blast, reclean, coat, bake. Once you have it clean never touch it with bare hands (always wear non powdered gloves) until you re assemble it. Even the oil from your hand can effect the coatings ability to adhere where you have touched it.

Edit: Of all the coatings I mainly use CeraKote on my own hand guns.
