Looks pretty good!

So how long did it take you to get the nerve up to do the total weapon?

I will look when I get home. It was mostly the camo colors. Camo Fusion Woodland Light Green, Camo Sands & Khaki. Used a random white color for the highlights and earth brown for the brown.

I wish I had just used camo brown though cuz the earth brown is more sensitive to the heat of firing for some reason.

Looks like a SP1 stock. Worth some cash to the 'retro' AR guys. I accidentally "wrecked" one and found that out on here.

It's actually not bad in person, It's bright, really bright, but the wife chose it and it grows on you. It actually goes really well with the wood floors. Almost a tropicalish look

A buddy said he wanted his AR done up after seeing a couple of mine so he let me loose with some Krylon after he did FDE CeraKote on the barrel and some Alumahyde II on the some other parts.

I used OD, Tan and Dark Brown Krylon Fusion. Awesome paint and it's easy enough to remove if he wants to change it up or make it permanent with the use of CeraKote.

He wrote down the specs for me to post:

Model 1 upper, Mega lower, Mega trigger, Gas Buster charging handle, Vltor Modstock, YHM Specter Length lightweight rail, Citadel 16" SS barrel, Bushy Y-Comp, Centurion Diopter sights, JP Jpoint on and Ergo QD picatinny mount, Tango down pistol grip and QD VFG, Gear Sector 2 point sling and sling mounts, Gear Sector light mount and a Coast LED light with tape switch.

My first try at camo, did some single color guns before.

This is a combination Rhodesian, woodland and whatever I felt like. I have some original Rhodesian camo fatigues that really work well here and I wanted to duplicate it. The green came out a little darker than I hoped, but for my neighborhood it seems to work OK.

Just couldn't bring myself to paint the scope, although after I took these pictures I wrapped it with some camo tape. Will have to get some high temp paint for the can next.

Rifle is a .300 Whisper 11" stainless heavy barrel with three position gas block, YHM stainless .308 Phantom, Weaver 1-3x. Great fun to shoot.

I took the plunge to paint the receiver of my AR. I was going to try to make the receiver match the furniture but alas I found I have limited paint resources here in Alaska. My first attempt I found the green to just not work at all. So I hit the paint with brake cleaner and just went with the brown as it is a very good match to the furniture. Maybe next transfer I will be closer to better paint options. If it grows on me I will do the barrel in brown as well.

Furniture was all done in RIT Dye.

ETA: I am probably going to paint the slide of my Glock brown as well.

Anybody use brownells alumahyde for this? Better wear than krylon? I used the Kryon camo od on a stock, but all this multicam styled stuff has given me the bug...
