New to night vision and looking to make first purchase...need some advice

I'm looking to add night vision to my gear and need some advice on what to go with. I have up to $3500 to spend and want to get something that can be weapon or helmet mounted. What do you guys recommend?

+1 TNVC can help -

But for some extra information- look for an AN/PVS-14 - consider the Night Enforcer series and give some consideration to a helmet for later.

Don't use on anything larger than 5.56 without discussing with whoever is building it -

And give some thought to lasers on the rifle - :)
