Yukon makes several affordable Gen 1 rifle scopes. They advertise a 3x magnifier, I am having a hard time figuring out what unit it will work with any. Also, any gen 1 NV input appreciated.

Commercial gen 1 is junk and alot of people will soon be around to inform you why better than i can. Look up the thread on night vision comparrisons. It compares a gen 1 commercial unit to a gen 2 and 3.

Go to page two of this thread link about half way down. Cj7Hawk has a real good photo comparison of what you can expect with commercial Gen 1. The pics are self explanatory and really all that needs to be said.
The only advice I can add if you go with gen1 go with an ex military triple cascade unit, not Yukon or ATN or other commercial products. A useful thread for you to read would be the Zeiss orion thread a few posts down.
