Form 3 wait--3 months normal?
I ordered a NFA item from Knesek back in January. Form 3 still hasn't gotten to them. How long is it generally taking on Form 3 on the ATF's end?
They used to be taking 30 days, is that no longer the case?
seems long to m. We're seeing 3 to 4 weeks.
I have been waiting on a Form 3 transfer from M3 since February. Shipping shows that it will be at my dealers tomorrow.
I'm over a month on a form 3 from AZ to my dealer. I hope it's not 3 months just for this transfer.
Three months seems really long....call and check the status. I bet the transferor didn't send it in when they said they did.
For some reason, a lot of ours have been running 6-8 weeks.
Regarding M3 - it's entirely possible things have already been approved. We got an order in earlier in the month from him that had been approved 3+ weeks prior to shipping.
have a form 3 coming back to Knesek soon, it will have taken 2.5 months and the customer rep thought that was better than average since they have some at the 6 month count...

As a dealer, there's absolutely no way I'd wait 6 months on an F3. I'd be calling my examiner asking WTF at the 2 month mark. There's absolutely no reason for it to take more than 2-3 weeks to process a form that requires little checking unless there is an error.
i had a form 3 go through in two weeks exactly, that was early march.
I bet they sold you an NFA item that wasn't built yet. Henderon Defence did my Colt 6933 in less then 24 hours via a fax and a phone call to their assigned ATF agent. I have had several suppressors and HK Sears go 1 to 1.5 weeks vial snail mail.

Item was not in stock. Was it available from distributor or manufacturer.

I am still waiting of a Form 3 from Noveske since 5 march. No word. I hear Form 4's are just now being approved from mid sept. Its a long wait, but it'll be a great New Year!!
I hope not I'm waiting for my osprey 45 to get to my dealer. It's been about 6 weeks so maybe they weren't in stock.
My multimount was 10 weeks wait for form 3.
Seems long, but I've had some take that long. Are you sure whatever they ordered for you was in stock and ready for transfer? I'd put money on it not being the case.
I ordered a suppressor on 4/5 from Silencershop, and they emailed me last night (4/26) to say the Form 3 was approved. That was about half of the wait time I was expecting.
All transfers to dealers (form 4 and form 3) have been running at 4-6 weeks for me in the last two months. They might have sold you something that was not in stock..... If it was in stock I would have them contact the atf examiner to see what is going on....

Same here. We have inventory coming from Acusport and direct from Gemtech. They've all been taking about 6 weeks.
If it's been 3 months, I would call the NFA branch and check the status. If it has been approved, then the suppressor can be shipped.
Yeah, I prob. should not have gone with Knesek. They claim that the suppressor was/is in stock and ready to ship. I think they lied to me. It is taking way to long for a Form 3 to drop.
I suppose that canceling it is prob. out of the question now.

Good luck with that. They were a bunch of douche bags when I spoke with them. They have on their site that they will price match, so I sent them a price to see if they would match it, and the guy was all sorts of a dick to me, claimed the item wasn't in stock at the other dealer, and they must be not including the flash hider in the price from the site. I did finally get a manager who at least offered to price match the item, but the first sales guy turned me off to them. I'd never spend a penny with them.

What can did you buy that they told you was in stock??? I hope not an NT4.
It sounds like they may have sodomized you...I had a rather bad experence with them when I was shopping for an NT4 back in November, Ill send you a PM....buyer beware.

Yes, it was the "last NT4 in stock". I am sending an email out right now.
